Our story begins in 1972, when we were formed as Crestmont Day Care Center, Inc.
We were housed in the basement of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Hamilton
Avenue in Willow Grove, PA. We provided full day child care services for area residents.
Several years later we entered  into a rental agreement with the Abington School District;
allowing us to expand our program to include an After-School component.

By the early 1990's the school district realised they had under-estimated the township
population growth and had to reclaim any remaining space that hadn't already been sold,
thus forcing Crestmont Day Care Center to find a new location.

With the surge of new child care centers opening in the area and rising operating costs the
Center finally closed its doors in June of 2005.

By the time the decision to cease operations was made the Director decided that it would be
a waste to let a good philosophy in early childhood education to eliminated altogether. That
is when the transformation began.

In January of 2006 the Crestmont Day Care Center, Inc. became Future Steps Community
Enrichment Programs, Inc. This new name offered more flexibility in programming and no
longer restricted the business to a specific geographical area.

The concept of our new program is to infuse existing Philadelphia area youth and adult
organizations with the extra element that they may be missing to help accelerate their
efforts. We do not believe in reinventing the wheel.

One of the first successful infusions has taken place at Germantown High School through
an invitation made by the Germantown Clergy Initiative to start a Young Women's Mentoring
Group. Future Steps is proud to announce its' first group of graduating seniors from
Germantown High School are better prepared to carve our their own niche in the world.
Prepared to inspired and motivate everyone they come in contact with.
